What is my Fitbit User ID?
When working with Fitbit users, it is not uncommon for a user to report that they see data in their Fitbit mobile app, but nothing is showing up in the Validic Inform API.
A common cause of this is that the user is simply synced to an incorrect Fitbit account. This usually happens during the authorization process when the user creates a new Fitbit user account instead of logging in with the one they already have connected in the Fitbit app.
When we suspect that this could be the reason for missing, the Validic Support Team might ask you to get the user’s Fitbit user ID so that we can confirm if that is the one that has synced to a Validic user. Don’t worry, this user ID is fully de-identified, just like all other IDs that Validic uses.
Here’s how they can get that Fitbit ID:
Open the Fitbit mobile app on their phone.
Tap the “You” button on the bottom right
On the next page, tap on your name at the top
Scroll to the very bottom of that page and you will see the 6-digit ID. This is the ID that we will need.
