Fitbit Health Metrics Support
This article pertains to: Inform (v2)
Fitbit’s APIs now support several health metrics that appear in the Fitbit app under the “Health Metrics” tile.
These metrics are designed to help users better understand how their body is performing over time. Most of these metrics are captured while the Fitbit watch detects the user is asleep, however, they are not directly tied to a single Fitbit sleep event. Therefore, the Inform API reports these metrics in Summaries to accurately reflect that Fitbit captures and reports these metrics as daily summarizations.
Users must grant permission to the sleep and activity scopes, as well as the relevant health metric scope, in order for the health metrics to be available via the Inform API. Please see the table below for details of the required scopes:
Health Metric | Required Fitbit Scopes |
---|---|
Breathing rate |
|
Heart-rate variability (HRV) |
|
Oxygen saturation (SpO2) |
|
Resting heart rate (RHR) |
|
Skin temperature variation |
