Sandbox vs. Production Credentials [Inform]

This article pertains to: Inform (v2)

What is the difference between Sandbox and Production credentials?

Validic provides customers with a Sandbox and Production set of credentials. Sandbox credentials are for testing the Validic API. Production credentials are for your organization's interactions with end users.

Both Sandbox and Production credentials provide access to partners, apps, devices and data. However, the Sandbox credentials do not allow you to use your own customer branding for the Validic Marketplace. In the Sandbox environment, all end users will see Validic branding when using the marketplace to authenticate for a particular vendor device/app. By default, the Sandbox includes a user limit of 50 users to encourage deleting inactive users.

Production credentials have separate Vendor API Keys created specifically for your use case. These credentials are set up with your product's branding on Vendor authentication pages when a user connects an app.

Validic distinguishes between Sandbox and Production by creating separate Organization IDs and Developer Access Tokens for each environment. Use the Sandbox Organization ID and Access Token when testing build in your Sandbox environment. When you are ready to move your build to production, switch to using the Production Organization ID and Access Token.
