P05 Error: Thermometer Problems
If you encounter a P05 error on your FORA IR20b Ear Thermometer, follow these steps:
Step 1: Review Basic Operations
Ensure you're using the thermometer correctly as per this user guide.
Verify that a clean, new probe cover is properly attached.
Check that the batteries are inserted correctly and have sufficient charge.
Step 2: Restart the Measurement Procedure
Turn off the thermometer.
Wait for 30 seconds.
Turn the thermometer back on.
Attempt to take a new temperature reading.
Step 3: Check Environmental Conditions
Ensure the room temperature is between 60.8°F to 104°F (16°C to 40°C).
Move away from direct sunlight, heaters, or air conditioners.
Allow the thermometer to acclimate if it was recently moved from a different temperature environment.
Step 4: Verify Bluetooth Connection
Ensure your mobile device's Bluetooth is turned on.
Check that the thermometer is within range of your mobile device (typically within 30 feet or 10 meters).
Close and reopen the mobile app pairing the thermometer to refresh the connection.
Verify the thermometer isn’t paired to any other phones or devices.
Step 5: Reset the Thermometer
Remove the batteries from the thermometer.
Wait for 1 minute.
Reinsert the batteries.
Turn on the thermometer and try again.
Step 6: Update the Mobile App
Check your device's app store for any updates to the SDK-enabled application you are pairing the thermometer to.
If an update is available, install it and try the measurement again.
Step 7: Clear App Data (if applicable)
Go to your device's Settings > Apps > [App Name].
Tap "Clear Data" and "Clear Cache".
