Can Apple Health introduce duplicate data?

Yes. Apple Health can store data from many applications that can also be synced directly to Validic. For example, if a third party app is connected to Apple Health and also connected to the user's Validic App Marketplace, records with "source" equal to "third_party_app" may have an equivalent duplicate record where "source" is equal to "validic_mobile".

Similarly, if Garmin Connect is connected to Apple Health, all records from it would have a "source" equal to "validic_mobile". To disambiguate the records, Validic has implemented a Show Original Source Filter that will help to identify the "original_source" from which the record came.
