We have had some clients have what they perceive as issues with our SDK when in fact it is just limitations on how/when the peripheral broadcasts to sync readings taken on the device. This page is specific to the functioning of the AccuCheck Guide Me peripheral.

For instructions on how to pair the AccuCheck Guide Me see this page.

What is the AccuCheck Guide Me?

The Accu-Chek Guide Me is a popular meter “intended to quantitatively measure glucose in fresh capillary whole blood from the fingertip, palm, and upper arm as an aid in monitoring the effectiveness of glucose control.”

The Accu‐Chek Guide Me is intended for in vitro diagnostic single‐patient use by people with diabetes. It is also intended to be used by a single person and should not be shared.

Please review the product information for safety guides and a quick start guide to learn how to use the Accu-Chek Guide Me.

When should I expect readings to sync with the Validic SDK?

You should expect the AccuCheck Guide Me to sync readings with the Validic SDK when the device is broadcasting. On the screen of the device, you will see the broadcasting icon to the right of the icon that notes Bluetooth is enabled.

After turning on the device the broadcasting icon will flash for around 15 seconds. This denotes that the device is broadcasting.

When the icon becomes solid (not flashing) the device is no longer broadcasting but it is connected via Bluetooth.

If the broadcasting icon disappears it is not broadcasting and is not connected to Bluetooth.

To get the AccuCheck Guide Me to broadcast again to sync readings it will need to be turned off and turned on again.

Any readings that haven’t synced with the Validic SDK will sync when the peripheral broadcasts the next time.
