We strongly advise you to review your device manual before using this guide. Device manufacturers may update product information without informing device partners. Your manual should be your primary source of information, and this guide should only be used as a supplement.

About the Device

The Zewa 21300 Wireless Smart Scale uses Bio-impedance Analysis (BIA) technology. A small amount of weak current flows through the human body to detect the bio-impedance and estimate body fat and heart rate. The electrical current is small and may not be felt.

Zewa states, “BIA technology is safe, non-invasive, toxic-free, and harmless.” The current mentioned above is less than 0.5mA.

Anyone with a wearable or implantable medical electronic instrument, such as a pacemaker, must avoid using this device. The intended use of this device is for healthy children 10-17 years old and healthy adults. Please review the “Contraindicated” section before you proceed.

We urge users to consult their Zewa 21300 user manual before using their blood pressure cuff for the first time.

Contraindications

When reviewing your Zewa manual, you will notice a section called Contraindications. A “contraindication” is “a condition or circumstance that suggests or indicates that a particular technique or drug should not be used in the case in question.” According to the Zewa manual,

  • “This device is contraindicated for any female subject who may be suspected of, or is pregnant. Besides provided inaccurate readings, the affects of this device on the fetus are unknown.”

  • “This device is contraindicated for any person who is connected to a wearable or implantable electronic device or instrument such as a pacemaker or defibrillator.”

How to Connect

The following videos and tutorials will help you understand how to pair the device. We’ll also share some steps to troubleshoot as well.

Pairing the Zewa 21300 Wireless Smart Scale

Before you Begin

  1. Make sure your mobile device is up-to-date! Check your settings and install all outstanding updates. You can choose not to do this; however, you may have problems pairing the device. Think about it like servicing your car before a long trip.

  2. Get close! You must ensure the Zewa 21300 Wireless Smart Scale is close to your phone. We suggest you place them beside each other.

Connecting a Device to HealthBridge

You must pair the devices to create a connection between your device and the HealthBridge application. To do this, follow these simple steps.

Step One: Accessing HealthBridge

On your phone, open HealthBridge. You must complete registration if setting up your devices for the first time. This quick video will guide you through registration if you have not done this.

You can download HealthBridge by visiting your app store on your smartphone:

Step Two: Prepare Your Scale

After unboxing your scale, please flip it over and remove the red tag near the battery compartment. If you cannot pull it free, you may need to remove the battery cover and the battery. To remove the cover, slide it down to unlock.

Once this is removed, place your scale on a flat, hard floor.

Usage Tips

Please review these tips before beginning to pair your device.

  • Place the scale on a flat, hard surface. Soft surfaces such as carpets will affect the performance of the scale.

  • Step onto the platform with bare feet. Stand still and keep full contact with the scale until the measurement is complete.

  • Start measurement at least two hours after waking or dining.

  • Avoid measurement immediately after strenuous exercise, sauna or bath, drinking, and dining.

  • Please review your manual for app tips and warnings!

Step Three: Pairing

  • With HealthBridge open, click on the measurement device related to your device. We’re pairing a weight scale in this case, so select “Connect Weight Scale.”

  • Next, select Zewa 21300 from the device list.

  • Now, step on your scale to turn it on. The scale should display a BLE icon. You can then step off. The device should pair seamlessly and require no pairing codes or action from you.

  • If you have previously used your monitor, those readings will be uploaded to HealthBridge. If you’re taking a reading for the first time, follow the instructions below to measure your blood pressure properly.

Troubleshooting

For the best results
HealthBridge will receive your measurements as long as the application is open in the background of your smartphone (meaning not the active application you’re using, but not swipped closed) and the device is within close proximity to your phone. Should you encounter any issues, we suggest you sit near your mobile phone and open the HealthBridge application for the best results. This will ensure a strong BLE connection to the phone, and HealthBridge is open to receive your readings.

  • Update! Make sure you update your mobile device.

  • The application provided by your care team must be open on your smartphone. It does not need to be in the foreground but must be open. If you’re unsure what it means to have an application open in the background, the best practice is to open your application while taking your temperature.

  • Get close! If the Zewa 21300 is too far from the device, the signal will weaken, and the broadcast will fail.

  • You can only use this Zewa 21300 with the HealthBridge application. Do not install another application that may attempt to collect data from this device. Please do not pair your blood pressure cuff with another device. Only use it on your primary smartphone, using the application provided by your care team.
