Start the monitor: Press the Start/Stop button. The cuff will automatically inflate and start measuring your blood pressurebegin the measurement process.
Remain Stay still: Sit quietly while While the cuff inflates and deflates, remain seated, quiet, and still. Avoid talking or moving your arm during the process.Review any movement or talking as it can affect the accuracy of the reading.
View your results: After the measurementcuff deflates, your systolic , and diastolic blood pressure, and as well as your pulse rate, will display on the screen.
Understanding Your Results:
Systolic pressure: The top number representing the pressure in your arteries during a heartbeat.
Diastolic pressure: The bottom number representing the pressure in your arteries between heartbeats.
Pulse rate: Measured in beats per minute.
...
Step 5: Transmitting Your Data
Automatic data transmission: After the measurement, the monitor transmits the results using will automatically transmit your results via cellular communication to cloud storage. The A blinking transmission icon blinks on the display during this process.Transmission success: If the transmission is successful, the indicates that the data is being sent.
Successful transmission: Once the data is successfully sent, the transmission icon will disappear, and the device monitor will turn off automatically power off.
Transmission failure: An error code If transmission fails, an error message (e.g., E6) will appear if the transmission fails. The results will be sent automatically . The monitor will attempt to resend the data during the next successful connection.
Handling Cellular Signal Failure (E6 Error)
If your SmartMeter iBlood Pressure Classic encounters an E6 error, it means the device was unable to transmit your data due to a cellular signal issue. Follow these steps to resolve the problem:
Check Signal Strength:
Move to an area with better cellular reception. Make sure you're away from obstacles like large buildings or underground locations that may block the signal. Being near a window usually helps cellular reception. Trailer homes and other metallic building materials may not allow the device to connect to a cellular tower.
Wait and Retry:
The monitor automatically attempts to resend your data during the next successful cellular connection. Wait a few minutes and try taking another measurement.
Ensure Proper Device Setup:
Confirm the monitor is functioning correctly with no other visible issues (like low battery).
Understanding Your Results
Your blood pressure reading consists of two numbers:
Systolic pressure: The upper number, indicating pressure in your arteries when your heart beats.
Diastolic pressure: The lower number, representing the pressure in your arteries when your heart rests between beats.
American Heart Association Blood Pressure Categories:
Normal: Less than 120/80 mmHg
Elevated: 120-129 systolic and less than 80 diastolic
Hypertension Stage 1: 130-139 systolic or 80-89 diastolic
Hypertension Stage 2: 140 or higher systolic or 90 or higher diastolic
Hypertensive Crisis: Higher than 180/120 mmHg (Seek immediate medical attention)
Troubleshooting
Common issues and solutions:
Device won’t turn on: Check if the batteries are installed correctly or replace the batteries if necessary.
