About the Device
The UAM-820BT was designed for Telehealth and RPM (Remote Patient Monitoring) applications. With only one button, it is easy to use and transfers readings immediately after completing the measurement. The UAM-820BT measures on inflation, resulting in a faster, more comfortable measurement.
We urge users to consult their UAM-820BT user manual before using their blood pressure cuff for the first time.
How to Connect
The following videos and tutorials will help you understand how to pair the device. We’ll also share some steps to troubleshoot as well.
Pairing the Zewa BP Monitor UAM-820BT
Before you Begin
Make sure your mobile device is up-to-date! Check your settings and install all outstanding updates. You can choose not to do this; however, you may have problems pairing the device. Think about it like servicing your car before a long trip.
Get close! You must ensure the Zewa BP Monitor UAM-820BT is close to your phone. We suggest you place them beside each other.
Connecting a Device to HealthBridge
You must pair the devices to create a connection between your device and the HealthBridge application. To do this, follow these simple steps.
Step One: Accessing HealthBridge
On your phone, open HealthBridge. You must complete registration if setting up your devices for the first time. This quick video will guide you through registration if you have not done this.
You can download HealthBridge by visiting your app store on your smartphone:
Step Two: Pairing
With HealthBridge open, click on the measurement device related to your device. In this case, we’re pairing a blood pressure monitor, so select “Connect BP Cuff.”
Next, select UAM-820BT from the device list.
Hold down the Start/Stop button to pair until the screen displays four blinking squares. You may now release the Start/Stop button and allow pairing to complete.
If you have previously used your monitor, those readings will be uploaded to HealthBridge. If you’re taking a reading for the first time, follow the instructions below to measure your blood pressure properly.

Step One: Prepare Your Arm |
Remove all jewelry from your left arm, such as watches and bracelets.
Note: If your doctor has diagnosed you with poor circulation in your left arm, use your right arm.
Roll or push up your sleeve to expose the skin. When rolling up your sleeve, be sure your sleeve is not too tight.

Step Two: Attach the Cuff |
Hold your arm with your palm facing up and tie the cuff on your upper arm, then position the tube off-center toward the inner side of your arm in line with the little finger. Or position the artery mark over the main artery (on the inside of your arm). Note: Locate the main artery by pressing with 2 fingers approximately 2 cm above the bend of your elbow on the inside of your left arm. Identify where the pulse can be felt the strongest. This is your main artery.

Step Three: Take a Measurement |
The cuff should be snug but not too tight. You should be able to insert one finger between the cuff and your arm.
Sit comfortably with your tested arm resting on a flat surface. Place your elbow on a table so the cuff is the same level as your heart. Turn your palm upwards. Sit upright in a chair and take 5-6 deep breaths.
Press the Start/Stop button to begin recording your blood pressure.

Helpful Tips |
Rest for 5 minutes before the first measurement.
Wait at least 3 minutes between measurements. This allows your blood circulation to recover.
Take the measurement in a silent room.
The patient must relax as much as possible and do not move and talk during the measurement procedure.
The cuff should be maintained at the same level as the heart's right atrium.
Please sit comfortably. Do not cross your legs; keep your feet flat on the ground.
Keep your back against the backrest of the chair.
For a meaningful comparison, try to measure under similar conditions. For example, take daily measurements at approximately the same time, on the same arm, or as directed by a physician.
Troubleshooting
For the best results…
HealthBridge will receive your measurements as long as the application is open in the background of your smartphone (meaning not the active application you’re using, but not swipped closed) and the device is within close proximity to your phone. Should you encounter any issues, we suggest you sit near your mobile phone and open the HealthBridge application for the best results. This will ensure a strong BLE connection to the phone, and HealthBridge is open to receive your readings.
Update! Make sure you update your mobile device.
The application provided by your care team must be open on your smartphone. It does not need to be in the foreground but must be open. If you’re unsure what it means to have an application open in the background, the best practice is to open your application while taking your temperature.
Get close! If the Zewa UAM-820BT is too far from the device, the signal will weaken, and the broadcast will fail.
You can only use this Zewa UAM-820BT with the HealthBridge application. Do not install another application that may attempt to collect data from this device. Please do not pair your blood pressure cuff with another device. Only use it on your primary smartphone, using the application provided by your care team.
